being asked to help out to work at the restaurant >_< DAMN IT! I've got a heap of stuff i want to get out of the way so I can have time to relax next week only to find that a worker has decided to quit without even bothering to give any notice! What's more is that there's no-one to call upon to work this Friday so "the last resort" which is myself and my sister have been called upon. Which means that I'm going to have to go up and help since my sis is busy with getting ready for her mid year exams. Well, I think I'm doing the right thing... I always manage to get the work I need to do one way or the other, (even if it means more sleepless nights, less contact with the outside world, giving up more relaxation time... (Its all about sacrifice!)) Well I'm sure i can get it done. With the right motivation ... maybe ... Once the franticness of the next two weeks is over i think I'm going to try and really relax... |

Since my last post which was about 4 months ago now :P I've had the house to myself (well Siska was over which was wonderful!) Had a few haircuts Drove my car heaps Had the car serviced for a king's ransom Drove my dad's Landcruiser for the first time (don't think I'll get to drive it again though) Started my 4th year of medicine (not counting the repeat year) Played WoW until my character is level 60 so i could stop playing all the time (Sorry hunny :( ) Been to Ross's birthday and had some really good food Caught up with friends from time to time And some other stuff that I can't rememebr or that isn't worth mentioning I'd like to elaborate a bit more on my study of medicine. To say that it has been very interesting would be a gross understatement. Learning in a real wrold environment kicks the pants off learning in a leacture theatre where the soft yellow lighting can put you to sleep on a lazy afternoon. It has been a great privilige to share in the health management of completely random people. I find it extremely surprising that people are more than willing to help you learn and let them practice your history taking and examination skills on them. I still have lectures in 4th year and they can make me kinda tired :P. I think its because I've been standing all morning. I can't sleep or feel extremely tired on my feet. Especially not on the Consultant ward round days. On-take days can be quite tiring. Having to stay at the hospital until 8 or 9pm at night after spending all morning and afternoon there is a killer on the legs. I really need to get comfy shoes. I end up sleeping in the PRoblem Based Learning classes. I hate those things! They're so dry and boring. I mean we might as well have another lecture instead of those. Oh well. Anyway, due to my lack of wanting to write up stuff, I've got more work than I wanted in my last 3 weeks of my general medicine term. Guess I should make a start REALLY soon. |

I've had World of Warcraft since friday afternoon and I've played it quite a bit since I've activated my account. Yes its a good game, yess i enjoy it. Yes there seems to be communication problems and misunderstands when dealing with people in a party trying get your tanking friends to take the heat off the caster characters, and problems with allowing caster to cast resurrect on fallen players so that they don't need to release their spirit and journey from the graveyard to their death spot. But otherwise WoW has been pretty good. What I don't like is that some character classes are clearly more suited to the game than others. And the whole having to "catch up to your friends so you can do a lvl 12 quest" And the whole stuffing around when we could have been creeping or questing. Sorry guys, no offence but I bought this game to ENJOY with you guys. Not to stuff around and watch my character die at the hands of respawning monsters. Yeah, sure you guys attacked too but surely you can get them off me so i can run away and HEAL you guys, (you know that's what healers are there for ~_~) Anyway, WoW might be good for a month or so I imagine. It is definitely not the Evercrack some people make it out to be. Its good, but not great. On Saturday, I was in the city with my mum and my sister as she is getting some new glass done up so that when she goes to the National Mathematics Summer School in Canberra early next year, she'll be able to see the lecture whiteboards. ANYWAY, there was a guy on the street's busking claiming to be the Number 1 Jamaican Speed chess player. The game of speed chess involves a timed game of chess 3 minutes on both clocks speed chess rules (that is no need to call check king can be taken). I observed two players attempt to take him on. In all consideration he was a very solid player. I then offered a challenge (didn't cost anything and I wasn't doing anything better anyway) my first game ended in a narrow defeat. I ran out of time on my clock. He did commend me on a good game, which is nice considering he cleaned up the other players in less than 2 minutes. After wandering around to get my sis's wallet out of the car and my sis's glasses being sorted out I offered to play another game. This time it was much more even. This was such a beautiful game of chess. It was a classic King Indian's defence book opening; one of my favourite chess openings. The as the flurry of moves went back and forth with city onlookers gazing in amazement, it was coming down to about a minute on both clocks left and well into the mid game nearing the end game zone. I had managed to trap his attacking Queen, and save a bit of time, while applying a bit of time pressure on my opposing Jamaican player infront of me. It ended in an exchange of Queens and a draw being offered. A DRAW! I happily accepted the draw as the game could have easily gone either way (and I didn't want to beat this guy as he was busking to get money for a plane ticket to see his father who has prostate cancer.) Now, if you were to ask me of which two experiences I enjoyed more, that is, World of Warcraft, or the speed chess on the street, I will tell you every time the speed chess. The most fun and exhileration I've had just sitting down and playing a game I've had in quite a while. In other news I made fried rice again on Saturday morning. The wok was a bit too hot so the rice had a bit of burnt smell and a very slight burnt taste to it. Still good enough to eat. I wish you could have been there to see that game Siska. I miss you heaps! |

Slowly but surely I've reclaimed quite a fair chunk of my hard drive space. Still have about 3 discs to make. Might back up some other stuff as well. I want to make a bootable Win XP SP2 CD as well. Save me a lot of hassle. Pretty much got all the software updates I need. Should have this computer with a fresh install of Windows and have most of my apps that I use back on by about 2am. I'll install games and what not tomorrow I think. |

I've been bitten multiple times by the Mosquitoes of Doom(tm) that seem to reside at Jules' place. The intense pain when bitten and the inability to quell it with anything non chemical is EXTREMELY frustrating. Not to mention annoying when you're also trying to outrun a Skyline in a 240SX at 318 Km/hr. My gums have also been hurting. My wisdom teeth are making themselves known and it hurts! I've also got ulcers which cause me pain when eating and brushing my teeth. It's really quite annoying to say the least. While not visiting Ross and Jules, I've been helping out at my parents shop this weekend. Not much to really say. Except for, I miss you Hunny! I love you! Good night |

Yesterday, I had the take away menus for my parents restaurant reprinted. Quite a tedious task. I had to go into the uni library to print out the original copy and then sort out the copying at Officeworks in Subiaco. After that I went back to my parents shop and had lunch with Rosey, Jules and Ross. We had Coconut curry chicken with rice. Quite tasty! While trying decide what to get I made the point that Rosey couldn't have pork and jules couldn't have prawns to my mum to which she added "And ross can only eat vege's no meat" We all had a good chuckle to that. From there it was to morley to preorder World of Warcraft and for Rosey to do some shopping for some clothes and pressies. Later we made our way back to Jules' place for a swim in the 36 degree heat. Very refreshing! While there i managed to watch the GI Joe PSAs. I was in tears from laughter and pain for LoLing and RoFLing. Had lamb for dinner at my parents place. I had some Mango yohgurt and some lychees afterwards. Very nice! My sis wanted to go to the doctor that evening to ask about what vacinations she needed before heading to thailand early next year. I wish i could go overseas. Shame uni starts early next year. Went back to Rosey's place after that for a while to watch Jules and Ross play some GTA:SA. Today, had lunch with Rosey jules and Ross at Morley. We went to EB and ordered some Prepaid game cards for World of Warcraft since it's the only non-credit card option for buying time for WoW. After that it was more or less back to Rosey's place for a bit of a rest before we headed to the Airport yet again to see Rosey. While there I bumped into a 2nd year med girl (well she'll be starting third year this coming year) Had a bit of a chat. Later upstairs bumped into a school friend at the newsagent. Seeing people off is never a happy moment. The mood is just so ... i dunno. Weird is the only word to mind that describes it. After seeing of Rosey we headed back to the apartment and played some GTA:SA. After dinner at my parents shop, I took my sis home and we took the clothes in. I ironed some. Then went back to Ross's place to watch a bit of top gear and watch some World of Warcraft action from Ivans account on Ross's computer. I left a bit early cos I was tired. We'll miss you Rosey! Hope you have a safe trip ! |

Monday morning and afternoon was spent with the crew (Rosey Jules Ross Ann). It was the first time not having my dear Siska with me when we went for lunch. I felt a bit sad about it but I managed ... somehow. After lunch at the Galeria we went and had Coldrock icecream in subi. Had dinner at an all you can eat place with my parents and my sis. My god i was so ful after that. I went over to Ross's to watch some stuff. I stayed over his place uite late that night. Ann Ross and myself went for a 2 hour wander along Whatley Cresent just to relax a bit. I also bought a DVD burner today but I'm still yet to install it. Tuesday was more of the same, just hanging around with the crew. I took my sis along for lunch this time. I found out that morning that I got credits for my semester 2 units which means i passed the year! Yay I'm now halfway to being a doctor! I was allowed to stay over at Rosey's place over night because of that. So later we all saw Ann off on wednesdat morning. It was sad to see Ann leave. While Ann's tear flowed on the outside I think in all of us we could feel the tears well up inside us. We'll miss you Ann! I ended up tidying Rosey's appartment again because it was really messy and i couldn't sleep after we got back from the airport. The rest of the day was spent having lunch in the city, and also so Rosey to get some shopping done. I had to work tonight so I'm kinda tired now. |

They say 1 week in politics is a long time, but 3 months between updates is an eternity. Where to start? I mean there so much stuff that's happened and a lot of it I don't recall exactly. Perhaps I'll cap on some of the major things first, then as I start to recall stuff I'll add it in as a I go. I guess the first major thing that happened was broadband going in on the 14th of September. I managed to organise that during the mid semester break we had during that time. Broadband is just so much more reliable and speadier! I mean we only opted for a 256/64 plan but that was more than adequate considering for roughly the same monthly outlay we using a 56K dialup connection. During that break I managed to spend some time with my dear Siska. We went to kings park on what was an absolutely wonderful day I recall just soaking in the scenary. My sister's birthday was on the 14th of September. I bought her a Black Eyed Peas CD for her. She was quite surprised I think as she didn't think I'd get her anything at all. At some stage Qiang and Mei were over here in Perth. It was kinda bad timeing because I was really in the thick of studying for test and had stuff that needed to be done. Damn I wish I had more time to spend with those guys. It really ticked me off that I really needed to study yet I really wanted to spend some time to hang out with people that are here for only a short period of time. I have a feeling that this happened in August (As Mei's birthday was during that time but I couldn't go because of work and/or study or something). Anyway the grind of was kinda relentless during October. I had an essay due and a tonne of study to do as per usual. What free time I had was usually spent with Siska or just taking some time out for myself. I feel so frustrated that I've not been able to enjoy time with friends while on uni. There's just so much to learn with my course and so little time to aborb it properly. I know I've not been in the best of moods when I do make some time off and I'm really sorry for being such an arse. I guess a lot of the time was spent just slogging thru the stuff at uni. Nothing seems to spring to mind except studying for tests and exams Jon and Ann came over during the thick of my exams. I managed to meet Jon for the first time which was a wonderful experience. Jon seems like a really nice guy (despite his online alter ego Hachi being a jerk at times). I wish I could have had more time to do stuff while he was here. Damn exams and study. I managed to fit in a few days inbetween exams. Hopefully that hasn't affected my mark too much. Still waiting on exam results. Only really sweating on one exam result and even then i I only needed 42% in that exam. There was one exam where I needed just 9% in the exam to pass the unit! That was awesome! I think I can maintain a Distinction (+70%) average for that unit. I only need 59% to do so. Since exams finished I've mainly been spending time with Siska, Rose and Jules, Ross and Ann. I can honestly say it has been really awesome! Warioware is the shit! :D Despite only knowing Ann via mIRC talking, when I talk to her it feels like meeting up with an old friend. Same was the case with Jon early that month (november) and Qiang and Sean (when I was in Singapore a few years back) I got the collectors edition of Half Life 2 and I STILL haven't played much of it. Mainly because I "aquired" Need for Speed Underground 2 and have been playing that. I want to get a new graphics card. Kinda holding out for the Geforce 6600GT. Its a midranged videocard which outpaces last generations top spec cards! While it exists for PCI-E the AGP version won't be out til early January I think. Not to worry I can hold out a little longer. My birthday has been and gone! Yay to me for making it 21 years of age! The day didn't really start til about 6pm. The morning was spent having a lunch in the company of sweet girlfriend Siska. Just glad to enjoy some time alone with her :) You're wonderful hunny! The dinner at my parents shop! Its hard for Rosey to stop talking about how good the beef tasted. She also had half the lamb ;) Don't worry you were more than welcome to it! Warioware rounded out the evening. I had really great day guys! You guys made it awesome. I think there are some pictures already uploaded by Ann and Ross but I'll put the stuff off my camera up sometime soonish. It includes stuff from when Jon was here too. Yesterday my Little Apple went back to Indonesia. I just tried to enjoy the morning spending some time with her before she had to go back. I took Ann Rosey and Siska to Penang and around the city for lunch and bubble tea. ;o; I'll miss you hunny! For some reason I haven't gotten that message you were meant to send when you got back. I hope you're okay. I love you! I know there must be more for me to say. I'll try to keep this damn thing updated more often. Peace out! |

Dinner for two at KFC is more economical than getting two 3 piece feeds food for thought ... so to speak. Took Siska to Officeworks in Osborne Park to get some stationary dropped off the stuff back her apartment. Then I had to take her back at uni so i could make it to my classes. hehe I made use of Siska's free printing. Oneday my conscience will get the better of me ... maybe .... oh yeah, I have a Gmail account! btw I feel grrrrrrrrreat! |
